According to Sanatan philosophy, the Supreme Deity is all-pervasive, eternal, and the ultimate cause of creation, preservation, and dissolution. He is the origin of everything that exists.
The Vedic glorification beautifully declares:
ईश्वरः परमः कृष्णः सच्चिदानन्दविग्रहः।
अनादिरादिर्गोविन्दः सर्वकारणकारणम्॥
The Supreme Lord is Krishna — embodiment of Sat (eternal existence), Chit (pure consciousness), and Anand (bliss). He is beginningless, yet the origin of all. He is the cause of all causes.
Yet, this Supreme Reality manifests in different divine forms according to cosmic necessity.
When creation unfolds, He appears as Vishnu — the sustainer and cosmic regulator.
When dissolution becomes necessary, He manifests as Shiva — the transformer and destroyer.
Krishna represents the pure Sattvic divine consciousness, while Shiva embodies the profound Tamas that dissolves illusion. But to see them as separate is a limited perception.
In truth:
Shiva and Vishnu are not different.
They are one Supreme Reality expressing through different divine functions.
When adharma rises and demons disturb cosmic balance, the same Supreme manifests to re-establish dharma — sometimes as Vishnu, sometimes as Shiva.
Lord Shiva is worshipped as:
Adiyogi – the first yogi
Adidev – the primordial deity
Yogeshwar – the master of yoga
Sri Krishna is revered as:
Leela Purushottam – the Supreme who performs divine play
The enchanter of Vrindavan
The embodiment of divine love and bliss
Even the enchanting Mohini form — the Shakti manifestation — reveals the mysterious unity of this Supreme Consciousness. Shiva himself was captivated by this divine illusion, illustrating that even the highest forms participate in the cosmic Leela.
Ultimately, the Supreme is Sat–Chit–Ananda — beyond physical perception, beyond intellectual grasp.
We cannot fully comprehend Him through senses or logic.
He alone knows His Leela, and He alone performs it.
"All forms, functions, and realities manifest from Him and merge back into Him.”
Hare Krishna
Har har Mahadev 🙏🌺🌻
